Online Guide to Loudoun Human Services Nonprofit Organizations is a good source for a list of non-profit agencies in Loudoun County. The database is maintained by Loudoun Cares (see below for more information about this organization).
Loudoun County Public Library. Click here for more information. Annual book sales are provided by the branch Library Advisory Boards. The Cascades Library has an on-going book sale. You can donate books and movies (in good condition, please!). However, please refrain from donating magazines, textbooks, and Reader's Digest condensed books.
Loudoun Library Foundation, Inc. A 501(c)3 fund-raising organization, dedicated to generating gifts, grants and community support for the public libraries in Loudoun County.
Red Cross (Loudoun). Monetary and car donations accepted.
United Way (Loudoun). Monetary donations accepted. School supplies and food drives are seasonal. Click here for additional donation information.
Humane Society (Loudoun). Monetary and animal care items and service.
Loudoun Animal Care and Control. The Animal Program Trust Fund accepts monetary and animal care supplies.
Loudoun Literacy Council. Monetary, books, and materials.
Voluntary Well Donation Project. Loudoun County groundwater data collection project.
Salvation Army (Loudoun). Monetary and "gently" used items.
DonateCar.TV. Your donated car does not need to be in running condition.
Community Holiday Coalition. Seasonal program helping families through the Department of Family Services.
The Good Shepard Alliance. Helps individuals get through crisis situations by providing shelter, food, clothes, financial counseling and referral to other service providers as needed. Donations can be made to their Thrift Store. Click here for a list of items the Thrift Store accepts and a list of items they cannot use.
Loudoun County Volunteer Fire & Rescue. The link will take you to the County's volunteer page listing the area's fire and rescue companies.
Habitat for Humanity (Loudoun). Monetary, materials, tools, office equipment, and land accepted.
Loudoun Cares. is a 501(c)3 organization formed in 2002 to plan for and develop the nonprofit infrastructure in Loudoun County. The Loudoun Cares mission is to create and sustain a nonprofit human service center that includes comprehensive information and referral services benefiting Loudoun residents. Loudoun Interfaith Relief, Inc. is a food pantry that provides emergency food supplies and promotes client self-sufficiency to needy families and organizations in Loudoun County, Virginia. Loudoun Interfaith Relief also provides information on organizing Food Drives.
Loudoun Abused Women's Shelter (LAWS) provides temporary emergency shelter, food and emotional support to women and their children who were escaping domestic violence and abuse. Monetary donations accepted. You may donate items to the LAWS Thrift Shop in Leesburg, VA. Click here for the shelter's Wish List.
Special Olympics (VA). Supporting the Loudoun County (Area 14 ) Special Olympics. Dulles Days Plane Pull in September raises funds for Special Olympics. Donations can be made to specific teams.
Goodwill of Greater Washington. Monetary, estate planning, and vehicle donations accepted. Goodwill operates a Thrift Store in the Sterling Plaza II Shopping Center.
Blue Ridge Greyhound Adoption. Monetary donations accepted. Donating time and participation welcomed.
Smithsonian National Air & Space Museum. The Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center is located in Chantilly adjacent to Dulles International Airport. Cash, securities, personal property, equipment, goods and services accepted. Click here for more information.

- Phones for Life. Cell phones can be mailed to this organization.
- Call to Protect. Cell phones can be mailed to this organization or dropped off at these locations.
- The Charity Recycling Program. Cell phones can be mailed to this organization.
Eyeglasses. Loudoun County Public Library branches have donation boxes for Lion's Club eyeglasses donation program. You can visit and tour the Lions Eyeglass Recycling of Northern Virginia in Falls Church. For more information about Virginia Lions Eyeglass Recycling Center, click here and here.
