Race for Refuge Youth - 5k
When: Saturday, August 30, 2008
Registration: 7-8am; Race: 8am
Where: Algonkian Regional Park - Soccer Fields by boat launch area
Why: To help an entire group of refugee youth who have lost their homes and countries and often family members and who have arrived in the United States with virtually nothing. The funds raised through the 5K will be used to purchase and fill approximately 50 backpacks to distribute to newly-arrived students.
